As the year draws to a close, all of us at Street Angels want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude. Your support—through donations, time, and boundless kindness—has been the very foundation of everything we’ve achieved. This festive season, you helped us create something truly special for our community, and we are overwhelmed by your generosity.

A Triumph of Music and Generosity
We must begin by celebrating our incredible Night of Hope Charity Concert on Spike Island on December 7th. Thanks to the magnificent Sonatinas Choir and the phenomenal organising efforts of Eric and Angela Curtis, we raised an amazing €3,200! The choir was absolutely fantastic, filling the historic venue with a spirit of hope and community that we will never forget. This fundraiser will make a profound difference to our work, and we are endlessly thankful to everyone who performed, organised, and attended.
A Feast of Kindness:
Our annual Christmas dinner was another beautiful highlight. A massive thank you to Gary and the team at Secret Recipes in Ballincollig, who prepared and served a stunning 120 hot dinners of turkey, ham, and all the trimmings! The meal was beautifully finished with a delicious ice cream dessert, thanks to Jack from Murphy’s Icecream, who personally poured ice cream onto Helen’s wonderful chocolate biscuit cake.
We were kept refreshed with minerals from Niall at Baker Street, and enjoyed fantastic pizza and chips from our loyal friends at Donatellos and Dominos. A special thanks also to Murphy’s Chipper on Shandon Street, and to Christine for her homemade stew, and to Deirdre and Niall Curtin for their delivery.
Our pantry was stocked thanks to loads of supplies from Fitzpatrick’s Food Store, and we were treated to homemade pasta bakes and biscuits from the wonderful Orla, Pat, and the kids. Bernadette also brought a fantastic haul from Ololia.
Community in Action:
The spirit of giving shone through in so many ways. A huge thank you to a special mum and son on TikTok who raised an amazing €720 and travelled from Dublin to spend it all on brand-new goods for the event.
To Tony and Billy at The Laundry Lab in Cobh, thank you for your incredible “Drop a Coat” fundraiser, which saw you collect, clean, and deliver 30 bags of coats to those who need them most.
And as always, our ongoing gratitude to Papa Bills for their reliable support every second week, and to Baker Street for the slab of soft drinks.
An Atmosphere of Joy:
The day was filled with outstanding music from World Flower and from other talented musicians (a sincere thank you to the gentleman and lady whose names we missed—your music was beautiful!). We were also delighted to welcome Seamus Whelan from Red FM, who dropped by to soak up the community spirit.
A Short Pause, Then Back with News
Our volunteers took to the streets for the last time this year on Monday, 15th December. We will be taking a short, well-deserved break to recharge and prepare for 2026. We will return to our outreach on Monday, 5th January.
Please note, we may be starting the new year from a new location! We are working on some positive changes to best serve our community. We will share all the details on our social media pages in the coming weeks, so please follow us to stay updated.
Looking back on this event and on the entire year, we are filled with hope. Each meal served, each coat given, each moment of connection, was made possible by you. You have shown that compassion is the greatest gift we can give.
Thank you for standing with us, for believing in our mission, and for being angels to those who need it most. Wishing you and your families a peaceful, restful Christmas and a happy New Year!
With our sincerest thanks,
Hazel, Michael, and The Street Angels Team
